Off- grid Power solutions

An off-grid power solution is a stand-alone power system or mini-grids typically to provide a smaller community with electricity. Off-grid electrification is an approach to access electricity used in countries and areas with little access to electricity, due to scattered or distant population. The term off-the-grid (OTG) can refer to living in a self-sufficient manner without reliance on one or more public utilities.

  • Solar Hybrid Power Solutions: Solar hybrid power systems are power systems that combine solar power from a photovoltaic system with another power generating energy source. A common type is a photovoltaic-grid-diesel hybrid system, combining photovoltaic (PV), grid power and diesel generators, as PV has hardly any marginal cost and is treated with priority on the grid.

  • Water Pumping systems: Solar pumping systems are designed to address the two essential needs of populations for community water supply as well as providing the required water supply for agriculture. The solar systems can be designed to pump up to more than 300.000 litres per day at lower heads to smaller water quantities at higher heads up to 300 metres. Solar pumping systems are flexible and modular and can be designed according to water demand or aquifer limitation. The energy generated by the solar modules is used directly to pump the water, therefore batteries and charge controllers are not needed.

Solar Water Heating Systems

Solar water heating (SWH) systems directly use the heat of the sun to heat the water for your household. In a ”pump-circulated“ system the storage tank is ground or floor mounted and below the level of the collectors a circulating pump moves water or heat transfer fluid between the tank and the collectors. SWH systems are designed to deliver the optimum amount of hot water for most of the year. In a ”close-coupled“ SWH system the storage tank is horizontally mounted immediately above the solar collectors on the roof. No pumping is required as the hot water naturally rises into the tank through thermosiphon flow.
